At Next Generation Constructions we understand that whether it’s a multi-unit build or a residential renovation, there are multiple moving parts to each unique project that must be coordinated with precison. No matter the size and scale of the job, our approach to project management focuses on industry-best practices, cautious and practical decision-making, transparent processes and agreed-to reporting methods. With every decision possibly impacting budget and delivery schedule, our well-honed project management skills ensure we can anticipate risks and unexpected challenges before they have the potential to impact a project.

Our strong communication skills play an essential role in our approach to project management. Our promise to our clients, is to always engage them in informed conversations throughout the entirety of the project, bringing them peace of mind and confidence that the project will be delivered on time and budget.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Next Generation Constructions will work with you and your architect and design team throughout all phases of the pre-construction process, laying the foundation for the successful delivery of the project.

In relation to the pre-production process, Next Generation Constructions offers clients two distinct approaches:

  1. Price based on a fixed sum price or;
  2. Work with the client to manage the build cost in an open book contract.

 

Each methodology has unique benefits and constraints that will suit our client’s desired outcome. In our experience, trust between all parties can offer additional savings that aren’t possible if the builder has to price all risk into the quotation.

We aim to price all our projects competitively and can often secure project cost savings because of the way we work with our sub-contractors. Our hand-picked sub-contractors predominately work for Next Generation Constructions, enabling us to secure better pricing, quality of work and site attendance than many other builders can offer.

CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Following an extensive and detailed pre-construction planning process, we begin the construction phase. Once construction has commenced, Next Generation works closely with project stakeholders to manage all aspects of time, cost, risk management and communication. Next Generation Construction manages all construction related issues from site OH&S issues to meeting legal requirements with third parties like local government and utility companies.

Construction deliverables:

  • Access to and clearing of the site
  • The slab or base stage
  • Frame
  • Lockup
  • Fit-out
  • Practical completion and delivery

 

In general, construction follows the linear process outlined above, with one phase needing completion before we commence the next – although there are some phases of construction that can occur simultaneously. Our strong project management skills during the construction phase of the project will ensure milestones are reached according to the project timeline and unique specifications of the build.

POST CONSTRUCTION PHASE

There’s no better feeling than handing the building over to the client and seeing their satisfaction and delight in a job well done. This is the most important part of the process for the team at Next Generation Constructions – especially as reputation is vitally important to us.

We also understand that our projects don’t end when we hand over the keys on practical completion! The team at Next Generation Constructions will continue to support our clients well after we have left the site. We take great pride in our buildings, and relish checking in on the building to ensure everything is performing as it should.  We also enjoy an ongoing relationship with many of our clients in the form of further discussions with clients about other building activities, or ongoing maintenance options to maintain the upkeep of the building.
